The Hill-Rom® TotalCare® Connect P500 Therapy System provides optimal microclimate management through next generation Low Air Loss Therapy using Airflow technology with innovative 3-D fabrics that draw heat and moisture vapour away from the patient creating the ideal microclimate. It enables caregivers to more efficiently achieve Safe Skin™, especially in high acuity departments such as Burns, Intensive Care, Neurology and Cardiology.

As well as offering a brand new therapy surface whose innovative features deliver highly efficient therapies, the TotalCare® P500 Connect Surface complements the many other advanced functions of the TotalCare® Connect bed that combine to offer Progressive Mobility™ Therapy.

Through a unique combination of therapies and technologies, the Hill-Rom® TotalCare® Connect P500 Therapy System can achieve Safe Skin™, No Falls™ and Clear Lungs™ for your patients, and at the same time help reduce caregiver injuries and improve caregiver efficiency through its smart and well designed features that makes it very easy to use.

The Hill-Rom® P500 Surface

The P500 surface performs with all advantages of an integrated mattress with the TotalCare® Connect frame articulations and adjusts utilising weight-based pressure technology within independent zones for head, sacrum and heel to deliver highest therapeutic performance. Importantly, as the P500 surface provides maximum pressure redistribution, immersion, envelopment and patient microclimate management it also complies with all the key elements of the 2009 EPUAP NPUAP Pressure Ulcer Guidelines.

Using the most advanced pressure mapping systems to test a wide range of patient sizes in combination with a variety of frame articulations to ensure optimised performance. The P500 surface also contains multiple layers of 3-D fabrics designed to reduce friction and absorb shear.

Together, this results in less pressure on the most vulnerable areas of the body.

New for TotalCare® Connect

With this latest version of the TotalCare® Bed, Hill-Rom® have developed the most easy to use caregiver interface – a colour touch screen interface with improved graphical representation of key data. In one survey 90% of caregivers could immediately use the interface without additional training. On most versions of the new TotalCare® Connect frame the caregiver interface can be positioned on either side of the frame or on both sides.

In addition within the recording of data Hill-Rom® have enhanced the data collection by including the FullChair™ information and by providing a choice of settings for pulmonary therapy supporting head of bed alarm.
