Infection control

Inherent in the quality of the products and services we provide is the assurance that the most stringent infection control procedures are in place and are audited and updated when appropriate.

Setting the standards

Hill-Rom is a signatory to the British Healthcare Trades Association document "Management and decontamination of pressure relieving devices" November 1999, whose stated objective is "To deliver pressure relieving appliances, compliant to all relevant British and European Standards, processed through the 'recommended methods' of cleaning, disinfection and laundering requirements to current NHS / DoH advisory documents."

Hill-Rom has developed and incorporated protocols that are maintained both in our Service Centres and in the Hospitals we serve. This policy addresses decontamination of all hard surfaces, micro-spheres (for air-fluidised units) and laundry items (including air mattresses, covers and sheets). Hill-Rom guarantees decontamination according to procedures developed in consultation with the Regional Public Health Laboratory, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and the United States Centre for Disease control. All procedures are recorded and records are available for inspection upon request.

From the very beginning, consideration for those for whom we develop our products has been our most important guiding star. Our vision, to always improve quality of life for patients and caregivers, is reflected in our daily activities.
